Meet Our Team
Kimila DeFlanders is a Licensed Certified Social Worker with over 17 years of experience in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient psychiatric treatment, substance abuse recovery, and working with seriously mentally ill clients. Her mission is to provide clients with guidance needed to draw on their own strengths to reach a more self fulfilling life. Kim has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from William Carey University and Master of Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi. Kim is a board certified supervisor for those seeking supervision for the LCSW license. She is also certified as a Military Service Members, Veterans and Their Families advanced social worker, and as a SAFE (Structured Family Analysis Family Elevator. Kim enjoys working with adults and couples.
TuShonda Boyd is a Licensed Certified Social Worker who has several years of experience in different settings. TuShonda has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Master's of Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has a passion to help others and has worked in the social service field since 2003. TuShonda is committed to going above and beyond for all of her clients in helping them succeed and triumph. She enjoys working with children and adults. She also offers spiritual counseling. She volunteers for several organizations in her spare time.
Dr. Barbara Martin is a licensed psychologist. She has a Master's and Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She has a specialization in child psychology. She received a Bachelor's dual degree from Tougaloo College in Liberal Arts and Mental Health. Dr. Martin has a wealth of experience through the promotion of psychological and behavioral healthcare across diverse representation of professional experiences and positions. Some of those include inpatient and outpatient mental health services, consulting psychologist in K-12 schools, juvenile justice, and adult detention facilities. She has served as faculty at several universities such as Troy University, Auburn University, Alabama State University and Alcorn State University. She currently holds licenses in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. Dr. Martin considers herself "blessed beyond measure".
Kadijah Smith is our Administrative Assistant . She is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Kadijah enjoys spending time with family and volunteering with several organizations.
Jocelyn received a Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from Jackson State University. She also holds a Master's in
Public Health- Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Gulf Coast as well as 2008 graduate of the Department of Veterans Affairs Leadership Development Institute. She is the founder of The Pink Lotus Project a national non profit organization focused on empowering women and mentoring girls. She serves as a board member of several organizations. She is the founder of the Mississippi Minority Mental Health Symposium. MMMHS is a yearly conference dedicated to educating professionals and engaging the community in conversations surrounding mental health stigma. Jocelyn enjoys working with adults suffering from anxiety and depression as well as adolescents and teens.
CC Jean is a proud graduate of Howard University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Communications. She’s worked in the television and film industries and as an educator prior to yielding to the call on her life to serve others as a counselor. She then decided to pursue social work and went on to earn her MSW degree from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in 2002. CC has faithfully served the community as a mental health professional for the past 17 years and has experience with a variety of populations including children and adolescents, adoptive families, couples, adults dually diagnosed with mental health and substance use disorders, and most recently, victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
